Title : Silver Kiss
Author : Naomi Clark
Published : March 1st 2010 by Queered Fiction
Blurb :
Ayla Hammond has come home.
After years as a lone wolf in a self-imposed exile she’s rejoining the pack and trying to mend fences with her parents.
She’s convinced them to accept her girlfriend, but can a lone wolf change her ways?
As if homecoming wasn’t hard enough, Ayla also can’t help getting involved in a missing person case.
With pressure to solve the case mounting from the pack alphas, Ayla is starting to question where her loyalties lie – and if a return to the pack she left behind is really what she wants.
** Review copy provided by James from Queered Fiction**
My Thoughts
Ayla has returned home to her Pack and family hoping they'll finally accept her sexuality. She never expected to be investigating a missing person case involving a troubled teenage wolf. Ayla along with her human girlfriend and private investigator, Shannon, soon discover that teenage wolves are smoking a highly addictive drug called Silver Kiss which leaves them behaving violently. When a feral wolf smelling like that dangerous but legal drug arrives in town, Ayla suspects that he may be the one responsible.
In the beginning of the book, Ayla and Shannon seemed to have a solid relationship but that will soon change when Ayla returns to her Pack. Their relationship gets complicated and they will have challenges to face. Ayla wonders if coming home was the right thing to do.
Silver Kiss takes us to a world where humans and werewolves coexist. Not only is this a great urban fantasy novel, it's also a great mystery novel. Naomi Clark has created an exciting and unique novel that keeps the reader flipping the pages for more. There's lots of action, romance and suspense. It has everything a book needs to entertain the reader until the very last page. This book is a must-read for those seeking a great werewolf mystery. Silver Kiss won't disappoint! I'm hoping we'll get to read more of Ayla and Shannon's adventures. :)
I give this book 4 stars!

Today, author Claude Bouchard will share his 10 fun facts with us. Claude is the author of 4 amazing crime thrillers : Vigilante, The Consultant, Mind Games and The Homeless Killer. You should really check them out on his website.

Ten Fun Facts (yawn) about me, Claude Bouchard
1) This may come as a surprise to some people but I have a tendency to be quick witted and even funny at times.
2) At the age of 18, I went off on vacation for two weeks during which time I didn’t shave. I’ve had a beard and moustache ever since.
3) I once whispered something to Joanne so that our cat, Krystalle, wouldn’t hear me.
4) Thanks to ‘bathroom’ issues created by antibiotics, when I took on Manhattan rush hour traffic for the first time, I got from 72nd and Columbus to 38th and 11th in less than 10 minutes.
5) I stay away from stores which sell musical instruments; otherwise I end up buying another guitar. (I now have five).
6) I’m very handy with home renovations and finished our basement on my own, including putting in the sub-floor, hardwood floor, ceramic tile staircase with copper edging, drywall, etc. I’d put in a complete second bathroom in a previous home.
7) I go barefoot whenever possible.
8) I love to cook and often whip something together from instinct with very satisfactory results. I even make my own pizza dough and pie crusts.
9) I attribute my ease with dealing with people in any kind of setting (including Twitter) partly to my previous H.R. background (back when I wore a suit and tie.).
10) Although I had never had pets before, since we adopted Klouzeau in mid-2004 (R.I.P. mid-2005), I am an official cat-person.

Title : Buffy the Vampire Slayer Volume 2 : Halloween Rain, Bad Bargain, AfterimageAuthors : Christopher Gikder & Nancy Holder, Diana G. Gallagher, Pierce Askegren
Published : August 10th 2010 by Simon Pulse
In every generation, there is a Chosen One. A slayer destined to protect the human race. She alone must fight the demons of hell. She alone must risk her life to stop the spread of evil.
Buffy is the Chosen One.
In Halloween Rain, as if Halloween at the Hellmouth isn’t bad enough, a brewing storm threatens to bring new demons to life, just in time for a celebratory massacre.
A curse on the school’s rummage sale causes strange behavior in the halls of Sunnydale High in Bad Bargain.
Buffy and her friends are looking forward to the revival of the old drive-in theater, but when people start slipping into comas in Afterimage, this late show may be their last….
**Book was bought by me**
********************
My Thoughts
First off, I must say that I'm a huge Buffy fan. I've watched and re-watched some of the episodes (okay...ALL of the episodes) a hundred times. I was really disappointed when I read the first volume (Buffy the Vampire Slayer Volume 1 : Coyote Moon, Night of the Living Dead, Portal Through Time) so I was kinda hesitant to buy volume 2. But being the Buffy fan that I am, I just HAD to buy it. I'm really glad I did because this book is great.
A lot of the Buffy characters from season 1 and 2 are in this book: Harmony, Cordelia, Andrew, Jonathan, Oz, Jenny Calender, Angel, Spike, Drusilla, Joyce, Principal Snyder, Giles and of course Buffy, Xander and Willow. I was really happy that Angel, Spike and Drusilla were finally in one or two of the stories but I still would've liked to see more Angel. :)

The three stories are so well written that I could really imagine the characters, especially Xander, saying or doing those things . Xander always had something funny to say on the show and he's portrayed the same in the book.
Buffy fans will enjoy reading about the Chosen One battling creatures from the Hellmouth along with her friends, her Watcher and her vampire boyfriend. If you haven't watched the series (what are you waiting for??) I still think you will enjoy reading this book. It does mention a few things that happened during the show, like the Master, but you don't need to have seen the episodes to understand the story. Anyone who likes a good book with a kick ass heroine and some vampires will enjoy it.
I give this book 4 stars!!

Each week, one author or blogger will share with us ten fun facts about themselves.
Today we have Derek Haines, the author of several books including the newest release, Milo Moon. Enjoy!! :)

1. I can't write legibly. Too many broken bones in my hands as a kid playing Australian football. Not a single wrist bone or metacarpal escaped. Makes signing books a real chore. Thank goodness for keyboards!
2. I'm a heavy-weight contributor to the Steve Jobs retirement fund as I can't resist anything Apple. Even apple pie now.
3. I like burnt toast. The blacker and more charcoal like the better.
4. I got lost about ten years ago while on vacation. Instead of returning to my home in Australia, I got stranded in Switzerland. After five years, the authorities felt sorry for me and gave me Swiss nationality so I could help count votes on a Sunday morning at 7am.

6. I tend to write lying down on my sofa with my Macbook on my stomach. I tried standing up, but it wasn't nearly as productive.
7. I have a habit of using small words when I write because if a word has more than seven letters my horrid spelling tends to come to the fore.
8. I write in spasms and never set myself a daily word target. One of my books took two years to write yet another only took six weeks. But I write blog posts to keep my fingers nimble.
9.I am addicted to drinking beer at 6pm until 7pm.
10. I drink beer after 7pm, but it is not an addiction then.

Title : Classmate Murders : A Jim Richards Crime Novel
Author : Bob Moats
Blurb from Bob Moats' website:
Jim Richards has reluctantly turn sixty and has just quit his job as a security guard. He describes himself as "I live in my old bedroom in my parents house, lousy credit score, over-weight, balding, gray beard, I drink at least 8 beers a night, I'm now unemployed and I just became a senior citizen, I'm such a loser". One day he receives an email from a childhood sweetheart he hasn't seen in over 40 years, pleading for help but he doesn't get to her in time. A killer is now stalking and killing his old female classmates (while they are under police protection) for unknown reasons and Jim, along with his only friend Buck, a big, mustachioed biker, are trying to stop the killer before he gets to one woman Jim is falling for and before the class of '67 has lost any more of it's female alumni.
**********
My thoughts
Jim Richards isn't the typical hero you usually find in crime novels: he's an unemployed senior citizen living with his parents. From the first few pages, I liked this character. He's funny, caring and intelligent. He even does a better job than the police!
There's a bit of romance in this book between Jim and Penny, the girl who had a crush on him forty years ago, which I find very cute. It proves that you're never to old too fall in love. :)
This is a fun and easy-to-read book full of suspense. This is the type of book that you could easily read in one sitting. It's a must-read for every fan of murder mysteries! From the very first pages I was interested. Lots of entertainment from the beginning to the end. From bikers to a TV talk show host, there's a great variety of characters which makes the reading more fun.
Bob Moats wrote an amazing novel. Classmate Murders is a great start to a series that I'm sure is wonderful. With titles like Vegas Showgirl Murders, Dominatrix Murders, Mistress Murders, Bridezilla Murders, Magic Murders, Strip Club Murders, Made-for-TV Murders, Mystery Cruise Murders, Talk Show Murders, Sin City Murders and Black Widow Murders, it ought to be awesome. I can't wait to read the rest of Jim Richards adventures. I think I just discovered a new favorite author! :)
I give this book 4 stars!!!

Please check out Bob Moats' website here. He's offering a free e-book copy of Classmate Murders or a free signed paperback copy of the book (you have to pay $3.20 for the postage). So what are you waiting for? Go check it out!

2. You bring a book with you everywhere you go. I.e: field trips, parties, restaurants...
3. You've gotten in trouble for reading excessively.
4.You could live at chapters.

6. You ALWAYS like the book better than the movie.

Please give a warm welcome to Jenny from Supernatural Snark. :D

Here's 10 interesting facts about Jenny. Enjoy!
1. I saw Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 8 times in the theater. Yes, that's 24 hours worth of LOTR. I have little defense other than I was going through a Viggo Mortensen phase (can you blame me?).
2. I would marry Jeaniene Frost's Bones, Chloe Neill's Ethan, and Ilona Andrews's Curran if they were real. I'm a big fan of alpha male types.
3. I have an irrational fear of parallel parking. I will actually drive further away from my destination in search of a parking lot or garage to avoid having to parallel park. My husband does not find this amusing.
4. I spent a semester in college working for Miramax Films in Los Angeles. I got to sit next to Richard Gere at their Oscar party while serving as a seat filler. I like to pretend that he would remember me if asked.
5. I rode horses competitively growing up until I had to leave for college. My thoroughbred's name was Alibi. His previous owner pulled me aside the day we bought him and told me she came up with his name because she was cheating on her husband. She would tell him she was going to the barn to see the horse when she was, in fact, going to see someone else, thereby making the horse her "alibi". Fantastic story for a12 year-old.
6. I hate coffee but love all things coffee flavored. Not sure why.
7. I called the blog "Supernatural Snark" due to my love of all things paranormal and my tendency to be sarcastic. This tendency often pops up at inopportune moments and leaves me with the lovely taste of foot in my mouth.
8. I am a closet Formula One racing fan. I actually know who Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and Mark Webber are. Don’t tell my husband I don't mind watching.
9. My biggest pet peeve is not being on time. In my line of work, I have to meet clients at designated times and nothing is more frustrating than when said clients show up 20 minutes late without so much as an apology (please refer to fun fact #7 regarding my inappropriate use of sarcasm, as moments like the above often bring it out full force).
10. Reading keeps my stress level down. It’s nice to escape the work day in a book and I’m thrilled to be a part of a community that shares my passion.

Authors and bloggers, ff you would like to participate in my 10 Fun Facts feature, send me an email at melvautour(at)hotmail(dot)com.
Welcome to my first Ten Fun Facts About Authors & Bloggers post!
Today, Laura Stamps, the author of paranormal erotica novels, stops by to share ten interesting facts with us. Enjoy!! :D
10 Things You Might Not Know About Paranormal Erotica Novelist Laura Stamps
1.) My blog readers know this cause I mention it from time to time. But I fell so in love with Donnie from "What Witches Want" that it took me two months to get over him. Damn, that man is HAWT! Tall, yummy bod, long blonde hair, sweet Gamma. Imagine Sebastian Bach at 37. Purrrrrrrrrrrrr....! *lusty grin*
2.) My resume is 80+ pages long with awards and nominations (like a "Pulitzer Prize" nomination in 2005 and 7 "Pushcart Award" nominations). My fiction and poetry have appeared in over 1000 magazines, anthologies, and journals. Hard to believe, isn't it? And you thought I was just a simple slut. Well, I am. Kinda. Especially when it comes to sex. Then it's real simple like : GIVE ME MORE! No, wait that's not "simple." That's "greedy," isn't it? Okay, I'm a simply greedy slut. Yeah, that totally works for me. lmao!
3.) I'm sure you've noticed by now I'm not like most erotica novelists. I'm not gonna tweet on Twitter about baking cookies and taking the kids to school. Nah. Actually, I'm just like the sex-obsessed heroine in an erotica novel. Truly. I'm an exhibitionist, voyeur, hedonist, kinky as hell...you get the picture. In fact, my last tweet a few minutes ago was about how I just discovered after my hot sex date at 6:30 this evening that I'm NOT allergic to latex condoms like I always thought I was. GAWD, can life get any better?! I think not. *sex-obsessed grin*
4.) While we're on that subject, Sara (the heroine in "A Vampire's Kiss") is a clone of me. Yes, she is. That's the first time I've ever done that. All my characters are fictional. Really, they are. But my vampire, Dray, was just sooooo yummy I wanted to fuck him myself. And this way I could over and over and over again through Sara. Ah, life is GOOD!
5.) I'm Pagan. Actually, I'm a Wiccan Faery Witch, which is just a fancy name for a Sex Witch (thus, my SexWitch name at Twitter and Facebook). All the characters in my novels are Pagan as well. And all my novels contain real Pagan spells, chants, and rituals. Seriously, I'm not kidding.
6.) I'm also a vegetarian. And all my characters are vegetarians or vegan. That means I include tasty vegetarian and vegan recipes in my novels. Some of my readers say my novels make them hungry for my veggie meals. Hey, not my fault! We eat really good. Most people just don't know it. ;)
7.) In the Spring, Sumner, and Fall of this year 13 new books of mine will be published in ebook (in pdf on my site http://www.avampskiss.blogspot.com and in the Kindle Store). But I had to dump my agent, slap one of my publishers with breach of contract, sign with two of my fav publishers, and work 123 days in a row without a day off to do it. Yeah, I know. I'm exhausted. *thunk...passing out*
8.) I'm addicted to sex, lust, trashy lingerie (gotta have my leopard-prints), and cocks. Well, you asked! *kinky grin*
9.) One of my hobbies is feral cat rescue. I've been doing it for 30+ years. That's why most of the heroines in my novels have cats. Anyway, I have six housecats at the moment (all ferals and strays). And the feral colony I currently care for is down from 21 cats and kittens to 3 cats who live on my back porch and think of themselves as my outdoor kitties, which they have become. Anyway, I got them socialized, fixed, and found good homes for all of them. For those interested in caring for feral cats and stray cats I put a lot of my cat care secrets and tips in my novel "The Witches of Dixie."
10.) My other hobby is gardening. I have three flower gardens in my front yard and an indoor container garden in my office window where I grow spinach 365 days/year for salads and spinach pizza. That's why some of my characters are Green Witches (Donnie, Blaine, and Sara). And you thought my hobby was sex. HORRORS! Sex isn't a hobby. It's a necessity of life, isn't it? If not, don't tell me. Did I mention I'm also delusional and verrrrry happy about it? Well, I am. Let's keep it that way. *delusional grin*
