My first ever "Author of the week!"

Hi everyone!!

Yesterday (or it could be today!), I was talking to a friend who also has a blog and she told me she does a "celeb of the week". I thought that was such a good idea but I didn't want to steal it from her so since I love reading so much, I've decided to do an "Author of the week".

So my first Author of the week is the lovely and talented......

Lisa Dale!!!

It wasn't hard choosing this amazing author. She was actually the first one I had following me on Twitter. I thought it was so cool that I actually had a published author following me. I had no idea about book bloggers or book giveaways before she started following me. It's because of her I got to meet awesome authors and book friends. She's so kind and sweet and loves to chat with people. It just felt right to choose Lisa. :)

Lisa Dale earned her BA in English from McDaniel College (Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) with multiple writing awards and nominations, and she received an MFA in Fiction from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Prior to earning her MFA, she worked at a Manhattan literary agency, where part of her responsibilities included writing editorial letters for clients’ manuscripts. Her nationally published short prose has been nominated for Best New American Voices and The Pushcart Prize. Her first novel, Simple Wishes, debuted with Grand Central Publishing, and a second book , It Happened One Night, arrived in November 2009.

I've only read one of her books : It Happened One Night but I'm looking forward to reading Simple Wishes. I keep looking at our bookstore but can never find it...Hopefully someday I will. :)

It Happened One Night is a beautifully written story that you simply can't put down. Right from the start, the reader falls in love with the characters and never wants the story to end.
I give it a well deserved 4.5 stars.
