A few days ago, just out of the blue, I felt like watching episodes of Gilligan's Island. My dad owns seasons one and two which my sister and I bought him as a gift a year ago. I used to love watching the Skipper, Gilligan, the Professor, Mary Ann, Ginger and the Howell's as a kid with my dad. Of course, at that time, I was about 5 or 6 years old and I didn't question anything about the show. Now almost 15 years later, I do have some questions:
1) If it was only a three-hour tour (a three-hour tour), why do they have so many clothes and other stuff with them?
2) If the castaways were smart enough to build an ark in one of the episodes in season 2, why not build a boat and get off the island? Why didn't the professor think of that! Come on!
I can rarely watch old tv shows but Gilligan I can. I find myself laughing out loud to some of Gilligan's antics. I did find some similarities between Gilligan and Screech from the 90's tv show Saved By The Bell. In one episode, Gilligan's mouth was turned into a radio receiver and I'm 99% sure the same thing happened to Screech. Both are just loveable and comical characters.
I even thought that Jason Hawes from Ghost Hunters looks a lot like the Skipper! I don't know if it's just me.

Well, that's it for now. Again, don't forget to enter for the "Hidden and Imminent Dangers" giveaway. I'll drop in early tomorrow morning to draw a winner.
Have a great week everyone!

I've never watched this show myself, but I've heard my mom talking about it. I remember her telling me about Gilligan (I think it was) always having so many nice clothes. Hello?? You're on an island! There's nowhere to shop for clothes! So unrealistic. lol
Watched the show as a child myself when it first came out, scary huh?
I love to watch re-runs still and also the Andy Griffith show and sometimes even an old I Love Lucy episode, simpler times and such simplistic plots!!!
As far as why they had so many clothes on a 3 hour tour, who cares it was meant to be entertainment for people who wanted to forget their cares for a while and just sit back and laugh!!!

I think you may be right on the Screech episode...sounds vaguely familiar (will have to Google later). On the look-a-like...nope it's ont just you. He DOES kinda look like the Skipper! =0)
@kelsey : You're so right about that. Ginger always had the nicest clothes. LOL! I think the only characters that always had the same clothes on are Gilligan and the Skipper.
@jacabur1 : I'm sure it was much more simpler back then. I heard they're thinking of making a Gilligan's Island movie. If they do, I can't wait to see who they will cast. :)
@GMR : I'm not sure which season that Screech episode was. I'm glad you think Jason looks like the Skipper too. I thought it was just my eyes playing tricks on me or something. LOL
